Sebu
Sebu is an awesome dog. He's tall for a shepherd, but is a very gentle giant. When we had him, a good friend of ours visited. Both Sebu and the friend fell in love with each other! He's now with his new family several states away, and I know I'll never have him back. Both him and his new owner are too happy with one another. This photo was taken of him while he sat in his favorite place - the bathtub!
Kita Kita was my second dog. (in this picture, she was being cute while rolling on her back). I've described more about her on my "Story about 2 dogs" page. Kita has been a wonderful companion and has a sweet disposition. She doesn't play ball, instead, all she wants to do is be by my side or cuddle in my lap. She's adorable in person, but is often hard to get a good picture of, as she wiggles around when trying to snap a good photo. Kita (and Jafo) are definately more than just a pet or a dog to me, both are like my 4-legged children who I love.
Jafo I try to give equal attention to both Jafo and Kita, as I love them both so very much. I'd never trade either of them, but I have to admit that Jafo is my all time favorite dog. She was my very first dog and just has great personality. Before she became an outdoor dog (not necessarily by my choice) she would always curl up on the bed and try to sleep between my husband and I. Jafo and Kita are both very special companions and a big part of my life. Jafo loves to have her picture taken and is usually very photogenic.
Moki Moki was a very gentle tempered cat. She got along well with the dogs, and would even kneed and massage Jafo's back. We originally got her for a family member who decided they'd rather have a different cat. We were going to keep her, but allergies said otherwise. We took her back to the shelter we found her at, and that very same day, and new loving family adopted her. We only had her for 2 weeks, but I'll always remember what a nice little kitty she was.
Mangee I never thought I would have a dog we called "Mangy". She was just a bag of bones from the day we found her, and even after testing for worms came back negative, she still never gained any weight. The first name she had just never stuck. She loved to compete with Jafo for tennis balls, swim and chew on toys. Unfortunately, her willingness to chew and our lack of time to train and work with her was why she ended up at the humane society. Fortunately, a family who had time to work with her gave her a new home. She was a sweet purebred shepherd, but unlike Jafo and Kita who are a part of the family, Mangee was just another nice dog.
Toby Toby was a lovable little Fox Terrier. My dad had been looking for a little dog at the time when my husband and I found him (mislabeled as a Jack Russel) at a shelter. Toby was a young dog with absolutely no potty manners and upon arrival to my dads, he was unhappy being alone during the day. As you can see by this picture where he was sleeping with Jafo, he just liked to be with others. Eventually, Toby did not work out for my dad, and it absolutely broke his heart when he had to give him away. Toby cuddled on the bed next to him under the covers every night for 3 months. I wish I would have had time to train Toby for my dad, as he was a nice enough little pet.
Neku This little dog got the name "Neku" but was only an overnight stay. We found the stray, but couldn't afford another dog, nor did we have the time to work with her. I would guess she was some sort of doberman mix, but i'm not really sure. The next morning, we took her to an animal shelter so that she could find a good home. Seems like animals just like us!

Daisy Sitting on top of Misty is one of many pet rats I owned when I was high school. This one in the picture was Daisy. Some people may think that rats are absolutely gross, but domestic raised ones (such as in pet stores) are very affectionate. The drawback to these pets?- They only live for about 3 years. Another not so great thing is that they are very messy compared to other rodents such as hamsters. This is the only jpeg picture I have of any of my pet rats at this time, but thought I'd include it as a tribute to the furry little rodents that made some of my high school days happy ones. Names of other pet rats my sister and I owned; Minnie, Thumper, Bambi, Flower, and Daisy the II. |
