....and his family

Brett Turpin

(left) This picture was taken of Brett in September 1999. He lost his battle with brain cancer on March 6, 2002, but will never be forgotten.

March 6, 2002

Age 7- Brett has passed from this life and gone home to Lord.  He is so very dearly missed, but after his 14 month battle with cancer, he is no longer suffering.

Please keep his family in your prayers that they will not lose faith after this sad passing.

Last December, Brett had a seizure, and this time, did not come out of the postictal state. In previous months, he had convulsive episodes, and the doctors assumed it was due to a calcium deficiency. In december, after a CT and slew of tests were done, the results were not good.

Brett has a rare and very aggressive type of cancer. The full details of his cancer aren't relavent to this page, but the fact he needs prayer for a chance to live is.

Brett's Family (his parents and brother who is 2 years older than him) became Christians just 1 year before all this happened. His cancer has been a drain on his health of course, but also has been a struggle financially, emotionally and spiritually on the entire family.

Right now Brett is undergoing experimental treatment as all other conventional chemo and radiation treatments have not produced anticipated results. It's faith and prayer that have helped keep him alive this long.

Brett is a strong willed fighter and one of the most awesome 6 year olds I have ever met. He's tired of the treatments and dealing with his disease though also.

Please, pray not only for Brett to go in to a miraculous remission (and a miracle from God is what this is going to take) but please also remember his entire family in your prayers. They are such wonderful people, and it really hurts to see this happening in their lives.
