NOTE: Due to text incompatabilities with the Trellix Web-builder and my offline program I use to write this site, punctuation is missing from many areas. While that will eventually be fixed, I apologize for the errors where " and ' have been left out in the meantime.

Pic of me; Actual size=180 pixels wide

This picture was taken of me in February 2001.

Who I am what "TimeWarp42" means:

In the past 3 years I have been asked how I came up with the nickname of TimeWarp42. When I first started to play laser-tag games in 1996 I had no idea what to use as a codename for the game. The name TimeWarp just kind of popped in to my head sounding like a cool enough futuristic nickname to go by. The 42 actually has more meaning other than something I just came up with off the top of my head. For a period of time I was working as a volunteer EMT. At that first particular agency I was working for, my unit number was 42. It had meaning, so I just decided to combine the two and keep it.

Where I am from, and who my best friend is.

lraGradPic.jpg

(This picture is of my sister who I admire so much.)

I was born near the west coast here in the United States. I was raised in the Christian Church by both of my parents. I have one sister who is 5 years younger than myself. During the years of growing up, there was plenty of sibling rivalry, but now as adults, my sister and I are like best of friends.

After graduation from High School I attended college for 1 years. During the time I was in college, the rest of my family had been making plans to move the NorthWest. The only way to stay in the area of where I had grown up and had friends was to work. Andrea was among my best of friends since the 7th grade. About the same time my family was moving, she had the desire to move out on her own. Together, we found an apartment. My family moved away, but I was happy enough at the time with my friends. Eventually, I missed my family, and living with a friend just wasnt as fun as we had thought it would be. I eventually made the decision to move up to be with my family. When I first moved up, my sister and still had our dislikes towards one another, but as time and events took place, so did a lifelong bond.

My sister, Laura, and I have a unique story on how we came to be the best of friends. Growing up I was jealous for a portion of years. Upon moving to the northwest, I found a great church and adult singles group to join up in. One night for the first time we all went to a place called LaserQuest. After that I was hooked and absolutely loved the place. I wanted someone to go with so I invited Laura along. It was so enjoyable, we went and played a game or two almost every other week. During those times we had bonded during the drive to and from and just going together. Ultimately, we found an activity we both enjoyed. From there, I taught her how to snowboard, although she picked it up pretty naturally within an hour just like I previously had the season before.

Together, we have gone to church, grown in the Lord and worked at christian youth summer camps. She was my bridesmaid in my wedding. While she says that I am influence to her, shes a positive influence to me. In recent times she has been teaching me how to play the guitar, do Karate (shes a black-belt team green belt) and has served as a source of encouragement for me when I am in my down moments.

What are my favorite activities and sports?

My all time favorite sport is snowboarding. I can pretty much ride on any terrain or slope level including black diamonds, but the riding conditions I find most enjoyable are intermediate slopes in fresh powder. My favorite board is my 144cm Ride. I received it as a special birthday gift from my parents a few seasons ago. Jumps are fun, but after seriously landing one wrong and receiving some very serious injuries in the 2001 winter season that still haunt me today, Im not so sure I want to do that anymore. {More information on my accident can be found on the Pets and Therapy section of this website}. I tried downhill snow-skiing for the first time when I was in high school. Snowboarding was not a popular or readily available sport at that time. I went with church groups and friends a couple of other times, but after I tried snowboarding for the first time in 1996, I was hooked!

From the time I first got the chance to, I absolutely love to jet-ski. It would definitely make my day if I ever got the chance to have one, but just getting go is a treat. Knee-boarding, water-skiing and white-water rafting are other sports that I havent had the opportunity to do in a few years, but absolutely enjoyed them when out with church groups and had the chance. I enjoy watersports, but here in the northwest, there arent too many warm months, so activity to do them is limited.

An activity Ive enjoyed doing before, but seriously doubt my back could handle now is Bungee jumping.

Skydiving and scuba diving a couple of sports that I hope to someday try.

For about 2-3 years, playing laser-tag was a big time hobby of mine. Anymore, I enjoy playing a game when I get the chance to go with family or friends, but Im not really in to it the way I used to be.

Walking with my dogs, riding bikes, bowling and spending time with loved ones are also ways I enjoy spending my time.

An activity I recently got in to during the summer of 2001 was Christian Karate. Every class I have my own personal battles and struggles. Balance and excruciating pain in my back are two of my biggest personal challenges. As a part of the class, daily bible reading, a monthly Character quality and memorization of scriptors are required for gaining belts. {More information can be found on my CKA-Karate page.} Fortunately, although the exercise from Karate may more of a challenge than I can physically handle at times, the spiritual nuturing and wonderful friends Ive made make going all worth it. And for anyone else, its a great workout and exercise.

What are my favorite TV shows?

Trauma: Life I in the ER, The Simpsons, Emergency Vets, Paramedics, Cops and Malcolm in the Middle are shows I would rate as my favorites to watch. Becoming a Paramedic has been one of my life goals. After working as an EMT(Emergency Medical Technician) and absolutely loving the job, I know where I belong. Its just a matter of getting there. I watch ER on occassion, but after doing the real thing, the show has so much drama and is far enough from reality that it's just not the same as when I first watched it years ago.

What are my favorite movies?

I am NOT a movie buff. Most commonly, I will watch movies found on the Disney Channel. Both new and old. The Lion King, Titanic and Back to the Future: Parts 1, II, & III are my all time favorite movies. Comedy and family based movies are most often my favorites. Musicals and Cowboy themes bore me to tears and are are my least favorite. I do not care to watch horror movies or ones with demonic themes either.

What is my favorite music?

Music by christian artists is what I prefer. The styles of music I like most are Techno, Dance and 80s music. I also like some 90s music.

What are my favorite foods?

Chicken Garlic Pizza and Chinese Food are my all time favorites.

Why is my real name not found on this site?

Safety is the biggest reason of all. Ive shared many pictures, stories and personal information that can be found throughout my pages here. There are many things I dont mind sharing, however, I chose to share only what I chose to share. If I dont feel something is everyone elses business, then it will not be found here. You just never know whos out there surfing sites on the web. Im sure there are thousands of wonderful people who Ive never met, but Im simply trying to keep safe from those individuals the rest of us would prefer not to. Thank you for understanding.

What is one of my most embarrassing moments?

People always seem interested in knowing a persons most embarrassing moment. Mine would have to have been an incident that just took place during the summer of 2001. I was out of town with my husband and we needed a couple supplies sold at WalMart. I was driving thru the parking-lot when an inconsiderate driver whipped his car out from its spot as if they were the only person in the world. I couldnt back up, as it was a very busy summer day, and I didnt want the jerk to hit me, so I tapped my horn to get his attention. The horn got stuck and wouldnt quit blaring. I definitely got his attention! No matter what I did, I couldnt get the horn to stop. I just wanted to die of embarrassment as people in the parking lot were just staring. A couple of people waved but didnt use all their fingers. Most people seemed to think I was driving thru the lot with the horn blaring on purpose. I pulled around and went to as far back of the lot as I could. I popped the hood, and my husband had to disconnect the horn. We were both so red faced that we decided to go a different store.

What am I most afraid of?

Everyone (at least who I'd consider normal) worries about every day stuff- financial security, relationships, etc. Beyond the normal every day stuff: I'm very afraid of bees. Yellow-jackets, wasps, hornets and anything else that flies and can sting I want nothing to do with. Keep the flying stinging things away from me!!!

How dedicated am I to my laser tag hobby?

Since I first put this site up, I have had a couple of inquiries as to my level of dedication when it comes to the topic of laser tag. The truth is, anymore, Im not. The most dedication I spend on the game anymore is updating and building the pages on it. As you will notice, my focus is on commerical laser tag systems, and not the home kind. While at one time, it was my favorite hobby and something I enjoyed, anymore, its something I enjoy doing now and then, and I dont mind putting together a couple web pages for new enthusiasts. I still like to collect t-shirts from different systems and centers, and I like a good clean game of tag when Im in the vicinity of a center. Otherwise, its not a game I spend gobs of money on. I feel extra cash can best be spent on donations to church, feeding those hungrier than me, etc.

Please enjoy my laser tag pages that I have spend hours working on, but remember; its not my whole life or who I am about.

What are some highlights I remember from high school?

Like any person, Im less than perfect. I did have a few memorable moments in high school (okay perhaps a bit of a brag session here, so feel free to go on to the next question if youre not interested). Here I just want to reflect on good memories.

I attended high school EVERY day and ended up with a 4 year perfect attendance award. Rain or shine, sick or not, I was there. In fact, most amusing would have to be my very first week of high school. A week before starting my freshmen year, I broke out in chicken pox. (Too bad the vaccine wasnt out in those days). By the time school was to start, I had scabbed over and was no longer contagious, but looked TERRIBLE! So what did I do? I wore lots of make up and when confronted by mean peers, would tell them it was a skin allergy (One heck of a skin allergy, huh?). That was the worst of it. Fortunately, Ive always been healthy, so other than colds and regular ailments that hit everyone, I was able to make it every day, every class, 4 years straight. I was very disappointed when the only award I got was a certificate I could have made myself on an inkjet printer, but knowing the accomplishment I made was special enough to remember.

While Im not a nerd and could never get straight As, I did manage to pull off a 3.33 GPA thru my high school career. My advice on getting a good GPA to anyone reading this and is in high school now?- Do all homework, and study for those tests. Be sure to get As in the subjects you are good in to help pull up your average from the subjects you are weak in. Do extra credit assignments when you get the chance. And studying with friends (not eating pizza and watching movies) but actually studying with others after school can be of benefit also.

The high school I attended had a special extra-curricular program. Animation was a vocational course option. Every year in the class, we would make student films. For the longest time, I THOUGHT my life goal was to become an animator and work for the Walt Disney company. Thru time and trials in my life, I feel that is NOT where God wanted me and the reason it didnt work out. When I think about it, I still enjoying drawing FOR FUN, but I wouldnt want to make a career of drawing something for others all the time. Working with clay and my hands is fun, and while film-making is interesting to me, I dont have the desire to make the devotion to the field that it would take to get back in to it. During the class, I won an award for one of the films I worked on which was a special feeling.

The best memories of high school would have to be the friends I made, and retained. I met and made many friends of many ages. There are many of who I am still in fairly consistant contact with today. Weve moved, gone on with our lives, gotten married, and been thru numerous changes, but the bonds and friendships will always be there and never change.

The proudest high school memory- GRADUATION!!!!!!!

What are my life career goals?

I've been thru a lot. Especially in the past few years. Six years ago, no one in my family or even myself would have imagined that career's in helping others would be my prime interest.

If I could choose any career in the world, I would become a flight RN. With my small 5'2" body frame, I'm the ideal size. With my compassion for others, I'd be the perfect caregiver. Currently, I've been looking in to getting in a career in Pharmacology. Secondarily, licensing and experience as a Paramedic would be ideal. While working a "real" job that pays more than $6/hr. I could then fund myself thru school while studying RN and getting a 4 year degree. If I have the time and resources, I would consider training in respiratory therapy. The experience would be valuable for my future patients, but in the northwest, I've found very few jobs available as there are many others licensed already.

It may take a long time to get where I'd like to be, but I'm young and there's plenty of time. Should I die or anything ever happen preventing my goals, then it was never meant to be. I've already gotten this far though, so I can't see stopping now.
